Entering Tibet from Nepal

There are two ways to enter Tibet from Nepal. The first option is to take the Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa. The Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa will take around 75 minutes. The other option is to overland drive from Kathmandu to Lhasa. For us, we usually suggest not to take the overland drive from Kathmandu to Lhasa, because there is more posiblity to get the altitude sickness. The main reason is Kathmandu is on the elevation of 1400m and Kyirong is on the elevation of 4130m. The Distance from Kathmandu to Kyirong is just 180km. Thus in a short distance, the elevation changes extremely quickly. In Kyriong, there is no good hospital because the Town is newly opened as the Tibet Nepal Border since October 2017. After Kyirong, you will arrive on the elevation of 5000m heights; your body needs to have a reasonable amount of time to acclimatize the altitude. Thus, taking the Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa is better option. Because you can extent more time in Lhasa to better acclimatize the altitude. The hospitals in Lhasa are more advance and you will get good care from everyone.
