The holiest Mountain in Tibet is the Mt. Kailash, it is not only holy for Tibetan Buddhist, it is also holy to the Jainist, Bon Believers, Hindu people. The pilgrims share same faith to the Lake Manasarovar just 30 km before reaching Darchen. Which is the starting point of trekking around the Mt. Kailash. The actual distance around the Mt. Kailash is around 45km with two high passes to cross, the hard one is the Drolma la pass which has the 5600m height from the sea level. The itinerary pattern that we have here will help you to acclimatize once you arrive at the Mt. Kailash area.

  • Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa Tour

    Your arrival in Tibet will be greeted by our Tibetan guide and Tibetan driver by presenting a white scarf (Khada in Tibet) at the Airport or the Train Station. This is a very traditional way of welcoming a friend in Tibet. The Distance from Airport to Lhasa city is about 60km and from the Train station to Lhasa is about 15km. We take the first day easy for acclimatize the altitude. Overnight in Lhasa.

  • Day 02. Lhasa Escorted Tour

    After your breakfast at the Hotel, our meet you at the hotel lobby and will escort to visit the Potala Palace, the Winter Palace of the Dalai Lamas. It was built in the 7th Century by the King Songtsan Gampo and later, in 17th Century the palace was extended the building to the present size and then, became the palace of the Dalai Lamas and also used as the Tibetan local administrative center of the Dalai Lama. This palace is the largest and intact group of ancient buildings in Tibet, which is listed in the world heritage. In the afternoon, our guide will take you to visit the Jokhang Temple which is located in the heart of Lhasa city. Jokhang Temple is considered as the holiest temple in Tibet, where there is the image of Buddha Sakyamuni which has the history of 2500 years. It is also the main worshiping place for Tibetans and Buddhist. Overnight in Lhasa

  • Day 03. Lhasa Escorted Tour

    In the morning, we are going to visit the Drepung Monastery. The Drepung Monastery is the largest monastery in Geluk pa school in Autonomous Region of Tibet. During the 17th century the monastery had housed more than 10,000 monks and it was became the palace of Dalai Lama. There are 7 colleges in the monastery and big assembly hall for all the monks. In the afternoon, after the lunch we drive to the Sera Monastery, which was built in the 14th century by the disciple of Tsonga Pa who is the founder of Geluk Pa school or the seat. The most interesting thing to witness in this monastery is the debating of monks. They are debating on the Buddhist philosophy and it is very helpful for the monks to sharpen their mind. The debate will be held from Monday to Saturday from 3:00pm to 5pm, though no debate on Sunday. Overnight in Lhasa.

  • Day 04. Lhasa – Gyantse – Gyantse - Shigatse;

    Today is the time to depart from Lhasa to explore the remote parts of Tibet. In the Morning our guide and driver will drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. On way to Shigatse we will come across the Kampa La pass (4700m) and will have an awesome view of Lake Yamdrok and the Nyenchen Kangsar Range, the highest peak has 7,300m height from sea level. Then driving near by the turquoise colored lake Yamdrok after another half an hour, then reached in Nangkhar Tse where you can have some lunch. After the lunch, driving through the beautiful valley to see the Tibetan nomadic camps, Karola Glacier (it is the 7th largest glacier in TAR). Crossing the Simi la pass and a man-made lake for hydroelectricity. After your arrival in Gyantse, we visit the Phelchor Choede Monastery and Gyantse Kumbum. Gyantse Kumbum is the most magnificent building in Tibet and the shape of the building is very familiar with solid or three dimension mandala. Continue drive to Shigatse after the visit and stay overnight in Shigatse.

  • Day 05. Shigatse - Saga;

    You will visit Tashi Lhunpo monastery where you can see the well preserved largest statue of Jampa (the future Buddha) in Tibet and golden funeral tombs of the former Panchen Lamas. Start driving to Saga via Lhatse and Sang-Sang, pass several lakes, towns and high plateau nomadic sites. Overnight in Saga.

  • Day 06. Saga - Manasarovar Lake;

    On the way from Saga to Lake Manasarovar through Dongba and Paryang, the journey will look over views of snow capped mountains in distance, sand dunes and nomad campsites, a lot of wild lives like wild ass, deer and antelope can be seen too. After 4 hrs drive from Paryang, we will arrive at the holy lake Manasarovar. Overnight at Chiu monastery by the lake.

  • Day 07. Manasarovar Lake - Darchen (Trekking Preparation) (30km);

    In the morning, you can hike around the lake and take pictures of Mt. Kailash from distance. Lake Manasarovar is one of the 3 holiest lake in Tibet, it covers 400km sq., the lake is devoted by millions of Buddhists and Hindus. Afternoon 30 km drive to Darchen. Darchen is a small village in front of Mt. Kailash. It is the starting and finishing line of Mt. Kailash trekking. Accommodations are very simple and basic there. You can relax and rest for a while, then prepare for the next day’s trekking. Overnight in Darchen.

  • Day 08. Trekking Day 1 - Darchen to Dirapuk (20km);

    Trekking around Mt. Kailash is 52 km long, starting at Darchen. The first site is Tarboche in west, during Saga Dawa festival, thousands of Tibetans and tourists gather at Tarboche to celebrate the festival. From there, we walk right north through Sershong Valley, the scenery ahead are the bests in the entire Mt. Kailash Kora. There is a small market on the way and another at the end of the day’s trek at Sershong. Lha-chu river provides a steady supply of water all the way to Dirapuk monastery at the north-western face of Mt. Kailash. Overnight at Dirapuk guesthouse.

  • Day 09. Trekking Day 2 - Dirapuk to Zutulpuk (18km);

    Second day of trekking is the harder part, you have to the start second day by climbing up the highest point of Kailash trekking, Doma-la pass (5630 m). On the top, a number of pilgrims will be seen reading scriptures and hanging prayer flags. Have a glimpse and take memorial shots of the northern face of Mt. Kailash. From here high pass is descending down to grassy field to Zutulpuk monastery. Dzong-chu river on left of trekking path is affording those with camping site and grazing yaks and horses in peak season. Overnight in Zutulpuk monastery guesthouse.

  • Day 10. Trek day three- Dzultripuk to Darchen (14km);

    Today is last and ending of trekking, in the morning visit Zutulpuk monastery and cave of Milarepa (Kagyupa magician in 11th century) . Walking through the small gorge and river allows you to see the Barkha plain. You driver will take you to Darchen. Have a good rest after a long trek. Overnight in Darchen.

  • Day 11. Darchen - Saga;

    Drive back to Saga. Overnight in Saga.

  • Day 12. Saga - Mt. Everest Base Camp;

    Early morning drive towards Everest base camp via Peku-Tso Lake and Shishapama, Peku-Tso Lake will make to some of best scenes in your collection. On the right side, you can see Mt. Shishapama in distance. Mount Shishapama is highest mountain within Tibet border with elevation of 8012m. Have lunch at Old Tingri. From Tingri Shegar to EBC, we have to drive over unpaved road. From top of the Gawu la pass (5250m), you will see the highest mountains of Himalayan Ranges and its snowy peaks viz Mt. Makalu (8463m), Mt. Lotse (8516m), Mt.Everest (8848m), Mt.Cho-Oya (8201m) and Mt. Shishapama (8020m) respectively from Left to right, climbing down through zigzag road that leads to Tashi Zom village and then to today’s destination – Everest Base Camp. Rongphuk monastery is the highest monastery in Tibet and consist houses both monks and nuns, it is still a good site to take good shots of Mt. Everest. It will be already late when you arrive at Everest base camp, so you can hike around and take a rest. Overnight in local tent guesthouse (dorm bed without private bathroom).

  • Day 13. EBC - Shigatse;

    Early in the morning, you can take morning walk to Mt. Everest Base camp from the Tent Guesthouse, you can capture the sunrise on Everest. Drive back towards Shigatse around late morning, overnight in Shigatse.

  • Day 14. Shigatse - Lhasa;

    Today we can take it little easy to drive back to Lhasa. In the morning we visit the Tashi Lunpo Monastery, which was built by the 1st Dalai Lama called Je Gendun Drup in 1447. Tashi Lunpo Monastery is  the largest monastery in the Tsan Region and later the monastery had become the palace for the Panchen Lamas. The main attraction of the Monastery is the Statue of future Buddha Maitreya, which is the last statue in Tibet was built in 1914 by the 9th Panchen Lama. In the afternoon, we drive back to Lhasa through the friendship highway. There is an option to visit an Incense Cottage factory owned by Tibetans, the most stunning thing is to see the watermill used for making the incense. After you arrive in Lhasa, you can have some to visit around Lhasa city and explore the Barkhor Street. Overnight in Lhasa;

  • Day 15. Departure from Lhasa;

    Today is the end of the trip and we highly suggest our travelers to give a short time to fill the evaluation form to improve our quality service for the future. Then, our guide will be waiting at the Hotel lobby and take you to the Airport or Train station accordingly.
